May 30th, Taipei, Taiwan: A Strategic partnership between Accton Technology and leading Canadian network security specialist Wedge Networks was signed today and will be formally announced in a press reception on Wednesday, June 5th, at 2:00pm in the Canadian Pavilion (Nangan Exhibition Hall) at Computex 2013, Taipei, Taiwan, the world’s most important IT buyers show. The mission of this partnership is to leverage Wedge’s advanced security, cloud and SDN expertise to provide Accton’s global customer base with radical levels of network security via an Accton/Wedge Security Operations Cloud (SOC).

A demonstration of the solution is on display at the Wedge Networks booth (N1009A-1012) in the Computex 2013 Canada Pavilion, Taipei World Trade Center. As an example of its many capabilities, visitors can see the system provides instant advanced security coverage for whole networks or individual roaming mobile users. These advanced security features include: secure, encrypted VoIP calls; protection against malware, advanced persistent threats (APT) and spam; data loss prevention (DLP) and flexible options for parental control, web filtering etc.
As part of this strategic partnership, Accton has initiated an ongoing investment in Wedge Networks; to include the adaptation of WedgeOS – a high performance network security platform with deep content inspection – for seamless integration across all of Accton’s current and future advanced communications products.
